materials
We have a limited selection of materials available in the Design Lab for member use. However, material cost is not included with membership and must be paid for on the day of use. Cost is determined by our staff based on pricing schedules and the volume of material that is used.
Materials available for purchase may include:

Bring Your Own
You are welcome to bring in your own materials to use on the equipment. All outside materials MUST be approved and/or tested by lab staff prior to use.
Scrap
Some materials left over from other projects are marked accordingly and are available for free. Ask our staff what is currently available to use.
Our certification program ensures that you have the skills you need to confidently and safely use equipment in the lab. Our experienced staff members will show you how to prepare files, use the equipment, and perform basic troubleshooting. You'll pay a one-time $25 training fee that covers all introductory equipment training sessions.
weekly training sessions
You can participate in weekly training sessions for specific pieces of equipment. These classes will rotate regularly based on interest or demand. Each class size is limited to ensure that you receive the attention and time on equipment you'll need to confidently use it on your own.
one-on-one training
Need a little more guidance? Schedule a one-on-one training session. One-on-one training is available at no additional cost, but must be scheduled with our staff ahead of time.
project support
From time to time you may want to make something using equipment you haven't been certified on yet or just need more assistance than our one-on-one sessions allow. That's why we offer dedicated project support for just $15/hour.

membership information
Membership includes access to the Design Lab equipment, tools, and staff resources during our hours of operation. In addition to membership fees, all members pay a one-time $25 training/certification fee. Additional fees may be applicable for extended project support. Membership is included for Makers in Residence. Members MUST BE 18+ or 13+ with parental consent.
